This site is for sharing resources and discussion on school gardens only. For content more relevant to community gardens visit the Australian City Farms and Community Gardens Network.

Due to high amount s of spam new members can no longer sign up directly and must be approved before hand.

When signing up please tell us a bit about your background, or organisation, or your interest in garden based education. If you can please upload a profile pic so we don't feel like we're talking to someone in dark glasses. It doesn't have to be a photo - choose something fun!

Please be aware that it is illegal to publish photos of children without prior permission from their parents.

NING's hosting costs

Dear allAt the moment, we are not so sure of the role that the network has played over the years, nor how active members are, nor how useful it's been in helping to promote school gardens for learning. Salad Central at Chevallum School Community Garden

1st and 8th March

 

The rain has abated but left the ground soggy and muddy and the air thick with humidity. Chris, our groundsman brought several tractor loads of wood chips up to the garden and this was spread in the hardwearing areas between the garden and the shed and the compost areas. The sludge was minimised and we had fun with the springiness of the bark on two inch deep mud.

The first week back at Salad Central, Chevallum School's SAKG (week two of the term) saw us confronted by the type of growth our sub-tropical Sunshine Coast can expect from near-relentless rainfall coupled with heat.
